We are pleased to announce that the cold weather we have been anticipating has finally arrived, forming a solid sheet of ice. We are optimistic that the winds will calm and boat traffic will decrease, allowing us to establish our shacks on the offshore, deep water structure by this weekend. Although we have been surveying the shoreline and experiencing some success in the 30 to 50 feet depth range, fishing conditions have been less than ideal due to recent traffic. Nonetheless, we successfully enough fish for Rachel to prepare a delightful homemade whitefish chowder, and the recipe is available on our Facebook page.
